At the end of the day, the NFL Draft is always about quarterbacks.
If you don't have one, you need one. And if you have one, you have to figure out how to best build around them.
With the Washington Commanders, there's still at least some question whether they've done enough around Jayden Daniels.
They had such a promising 2024 season, only for it all to come crashing down in 2025.
This draft will be pivotal, whether positively or negatively, for which side of the coin the 2026 season falls on.
The Commanders had a chance at No. 7 overall to take Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, but they went with Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles instead.
They did add to the offense in the third round with Clemson receiver Antonio Williams.
Still, is that enough?
"Washington drafted receiver Antonio Williams in the third round," ESPN's John Keim writes in a new article on Monday. "Williams mostly played in the slot at Clemson, but he showed the ability to win outside. The Commanders needed another playmaker and explosiveness alongside No. 1 receiver Terry McLaurin."

There's a general sense that the Commanders are still waiting on something to happen with Brandon Aiyuk, but right now he's still under contract with the 49ers.
"They could also eventually sign Brandon Aiyuk -- though it remains uncertain when the 49ers will release him," Keim writes. "And the Commanders did strengthen their defense, which will prevent the offense from needing to post big numbers every game. All of that will help Daniels, but until Williams proves himself, there will be questions."
Clearly, every improvement to a football team can help a quarterback.
The Commanders will have to hope they've done enough, though, because another lost season with Daniels would be a bummer.
