Today we’re talking about Mizzou Softball
In a huge midweek game on Wednesday night, the Border War (I’ll never call it the “Border Showdown”) goes to Mizzou Softball as Larissa Anderson’s Tigers prevailed in Lawrence with a 4-2 victory.
A two-run shot by COMO native Abby Hay in the Top of the 7th proved to be the game-winner.
It’s a huge non-conference win as the Jayhawks came in with a 29-12 overall record and were in third place in the Big 12 standings. The win pushed Mizzou’s record to 23-22 overall — which still puts the Tigers within striking distance to make the NCAA Tournament.
Up next for Mizzou (6-9 SEC) is a three-game series at home vs South Carolina (3-12). A huge opportunity to pick up some conference wins against a struggling Gamecocks team. Can Missouri make the regionals after missing last season? True Deck posted this Twitter poll a few days ago.
It was a slow day for Mizzou Athletics (in that there were no games), but five star commit Jason Crowe Jr. made history becoming the first Mizzou Basketball player to land a collegiate shoe deal.
Pretty cool here for Jason Crowe Jr. and Mizzou Basketball.
With this win, Mizzou moves to 23-22 and back over .500. The Tigers are five wins away from securing a winning record to close the regular season.
It won’t be easy, but the path is still there for Missouri to make the NCAA Tournament.
The final score was 4-2 in favor of Mizzou Softball.
