That was many years ago, though – eight to be exact. A lot has happened since then. McGregor and Lobov have more recently been on opposite sides of an Irish courtroom, engaging in legal fisticuffs. Lobov had accused McGregor of leaving him out of a promised 5 percent stake in his Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey company.
On Wednesday, however, a settlement was reached between the parties and approved by a judge, according to The Irish Times. Exact details of the settlement were not revealed. By settling, the parties avoided an eight-day trial.
McGregor thanked Lobov for "his hard work for my whiskey business," according to McGregor's attorney Mark Lynam. Meanwhile, Lobov told reporters outside the court room he was happy with the resolution.
McGregor no longer has ownership stake in Proper No. Twelve. The company sold to Proximo Spirits for $600 million in 2021. McGregor made $130 million from the deal, but Proximo later cut ties with when he was found liable for the sexual assault of a woman in a Dublin hotel room in 2018.
Proper No. Twelve continues to operate under Proximo, though all McGregor branding and imagery has been removed.
