It wonât be easy, though, as Oklahoma outscored UF in the semifinals, LSU staged a furious comeback to overcome Georgia and Minnesota is the Cinderella of the bunch.
Hereâs how this Gator team can do what Tebow did way back when and take home the hardware.
No bad (or even average) rotations
This is an obvious one in any gymnastics meet, especially for a program of Floridaâs caliber.
But Oklahoma literally leaves no margin for error. The Sooners scored at least a 49.475 on all four events.
When the Gators defeated OU at SEC Championships (by 0.025), it was because Oklahoma scored a 49.325 on vault. That was its lowest score of the season on the apparatus that Oklahoma ranks No. 1 in the nation. The Sooners scored a 49.750 on vault in the semifinals.
Point is, Boomer Sooner is as strong as ever, even if pundits are propping up Florida. The Gators certainly need to avoid a slip-up on vault (what plagued the team early in the season), but they also need to be better than average on that event and on floor.

A 49.225 â UFâs score on vault in the semifinals â wonât be good enough. Florida likely wonât topple OU on vault, and LSU has the edge on floor, but UF is the best bars and beam team in the country.
Its 49.6625 on bars Thursday was the best of any team. Scores like that on both events are essential.
Confidence thatâs contagious
The Gators certainly donât lack the confidence to win the title. Itâs been sky high since the thrilling win vs. LSU and has continued that way throughout the postseason.
That carries over during competition, and the confidence each member of the team holds in each other. Riley McCusker said so herself after she won the national championship on uneven bars with a 9.9875.
âThis win for one is a win for all and being able to go out there after seeing my teammates do the best that they can do,â McCusker said. âAll I had to do was my normal.â
The mantra, and the promise along with it, has carried over to the transfers. Rowland said Selena Harris-Miranda and eMjae Frazier have helped take the Gators to the next level, and sheâs right.
âThose coming in have a new sense of hunger that really just elevates the team,â Rowland said. âIron sharpens iron, and those two young women elevate those around them.â
In Thursdayâs first semifinal, Frazier finished second in all-around at 39.5625.
âeMjae loves gymnastics. Itâs not a secret. She cares for every team member, with everything that she has,â Rowland said. âShe always gives 100 percent.â
The competition begins Saturday at 4 p.m. from Dickies Arena on ABC.
