The Tennessee Titans may consider drafting wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, alongside other prospects, as the NFL draft approaches. Analysts suggest they could trade down from the fourth overall pick if their primary targets are unavailable.
The NFL draft is only one day away, and the buzz is growing by the minute. Everywhere you look, new information is emerging that could impact what happens when teams are on the clock.
The Tennessee Titans enter the draft with most analysts and insiders pointing to David Bailey, Sonny Styles, and Jeremiyah Love as their primary targets at fourth overall. However, Dan Graziano of ESPN dropped a nugget that could point in a different direction.
I have been told the Titans also would like to trade down from No. 4; but if they can't, the pick is likely to be an edge rusher or a wide receiver. So, if Bailey is still on the board at No. 4, he'd be a strong candidate to go to Tennessee. If not, I expect the Titans to either trade down or take whichever wideout (Ohio State's Carnell Tate or Arizona State's Jordyn Tyson) they have ranked the highest.
The idea of trading back isn’t new; it has been mentioned on and off throughout the last few weeks, but what is new is the addition of wide receivers Carnell Tate or Jordyn Tyson with that selection. Early in the pre-draft process, the Titans were connected to Tate in some early mock drafts, and did host him on a Top 30 visit, but this is the first time in recent weeks that a wide receiver was put on the radar early.
The wildcard here is Tyson. The Titans were one of the teams at his private workout, and general manager Mike Borgonzi did mention that the team was “good” with his medicals, but targeting him at four could be a risk given his injury history. If he is healthy, he is arguably the top wideout in this class, and a dynamic weapon that would give Cam Ward an impact player on the outside.
