James has been linked to the Knicks in the past. He seriously considered joining New York as a free agent in 2010 and 2014. The future Hall of Famer has mentioned on multiple occasions that his favorite place to play basketball is Madison Square Garden.
The Knicks could seek James if they fall short of a title this season. However, it's all speculation thus far.
Although he is 41 years old, James is coming off a solid season and a stellar playoff run. In 10 playoff games, the four-time NBA MVP averaged 23.2 points per game, 6.7 rebounds, 7.3 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 32.7 percent from beyond the arc in 38.4 minutes of action.
James put up a stellar performance that even Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault couldn't help but praise the 22-time All-Star.
“The level he's able to get to at this stage is unbelievable," Daigneault said. "He is a guy that similar to what I said about the team. Collectively, if you make a mistake on him, he's going to make you pay for it. It actually helps you improve, you're a better team. He's developing your team because any crack, he's going to find it.”
James' future will once again be at the forefront of the offseason.
