Kayvon Thibodeaux, the Giants' outside linebacker, had a strong 2023 season with 11.5 sacks but struggled in 2024 and 2025 due to injuries. Speculation arises about the Seahawks potentially being his next destination.
Could Seahawks become eventual destination for Giants' Kayvon Thibodeaux?
New York Giants outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux saw his goal of becoming a premier edge rusher in the NFL materialize in a noteworthy 2023 season, when he recorded 11.5 sacks.
The following two seasons in New York proved far less productive. Rather than closing in on Giants great Michael Strahanâs single-season sacks recordâwhich Thibodeaux had set out to break before the start of the 2024 campaignâhe regressed, posting 5.5 sacks in 2024 and 2.5 in 2025. Injuries sidelined Thibodeaux for five games in 2024 and seven in 2025.
Still, Thibodeaux remains a player who exudes significant untapped potential.

The Seattle Seahawks appear to have the culture needed to help Thibodeaux realize that potential beginning in 2026.
The Giants have engaged in trade talks regarding the California native this offseason, reportedly seeking a second-round pick. A change of scenery could be exactly what Thibodeaux needs, not only to contribute to a winning team but also to achieve his individual goals.
Seattle boasts an elite defense featuring a pass rush that stifled opposing quarterbacks throughout the regular season and playoffs. The Seahawks also possess a championship pedigree, a combination that should serve Thibodeaux well. In addition, the team has the depth and talent across its roster to complete a deal with the Giants.
Seattle lost edge rusher Boye Mafe in free agency but signed Dante Fowler Jr. to provide depth at the position. On paper, Thibodeaux would fill the role Mafe occupied last season, splitting time with Demarcus Lawrence and Derick Hall on the edge as the Seahawks pursue another Super Bowl run in 2026.
Of course, the Giants would have to be willing to trade Thibodeaux, which they seem reluctant to do, and Seattle would have to pony up a significant amount of draft capital. Still, if New York is fading by the trade deadline, perhaps the Seahawks become a realistic trade partner.
