The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Bucs still have their first-round pick, but a lot could happen in the next 12 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft in a class that many are saying could be one of generational wealth.
FOX Sports' Rob Rang recently released the latest way-too-early 2027 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going offense, but at a position we may not expect. He has them landing offensive tackle Cayden Green out of Missouri.
Rang explains the Green pick, writing, "Green is still only 21 years old yet enters the upcoming season with about three years of starting experience on the offensive line. He starred at left tackle last year after previously starting at left guard for Missouri and beginning his college career at Oklahoma, where he started five games as a true freshman. He is one of the youngest and most gifted blockers in college football, showing impressive initial quickness and agility for someone listed at 6-foot-5, 324 pounds."
If the idea is to move Green to guard, then this may be the path, but the team just drafted Billy Shrauth last week. Time will tell what happens on the offensive line but this is one of those picks that doesn't make a ton of sense at the moment.
