The Minnesota Vikings may consider selecting a wide receiver in the 2026 NFL Draft due to a lack of depth behind stars Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Recent mock drafts suggest potential targets like Denzel Boston and veteran options like DeAndre Hopkins.
The Minnesota Vikings arguably have the most talented wide receiver duo in the NFL in Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Both men have shown they can be dominant, with Jefferson being one of the best players in the NFL as it currently stands, even with him coming off a bad year.
Behind those two stars, though, this team is very thin at the wide receiver position.
The team didn't make any signings to address that position in free agency, but some feel they may be set to change that in the NFL Draft. The Ringer's Todd McShay added fuel to that fire when he mocked them Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston in his final mock draft this week, but there are even more connections beyond that. The latest piece of connecting the team to another wide receiver comes from Ben Goessling of the Minnesota Star Tribune.
During a recent interview on KFAN1003, Goessling explains, “I’m going to answer that yes… to both. I think, if they could find a veteran — I mean DeAndre Hopkins name has come up… if you could get a guy in here like a Hopkins, that has rapport with Kyler Murray — it depends on what he wants to play for, it depends on what he wants his role to be.”
The Hopkins connection makes sense as he points out the connection with Murray, and it would also be one of the more fitting options. Drafting a wide receiver may be a bit of a dramatic move for the team, considering they have Jefferson and Addison. Regardless, it seems they are ready to add to the depth of their wide receiver position after losing Jalen Nailor in free agency and seemingly be unhappy with last year's selection of Tai Felton.
The top wide receivers on the Minnesota Vikings roster are Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.
The Vikings could draft Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston, according to recent mock drafts.
Yes, DeAndre Hopkins has been mentioned as a potential veteran target for the Vikings.
