The Dallas Cowboys have so many needs on the defensive side of the ball.
But if Jerry Jones is to be believed, that might not matter.
Jones spoke with reporters on Wednesday ahead of the start of the 2026 NFL Draft on Thursday. And Jones pointed out that when the Cowboys drafted CeeDee Lamb, they needed a lot of defense that year, too.

If the implication is that because it worked with Lamb it could work again, that's risky.
The Cowboys have both the No. 12 and the No. 20 overall picks, so that's a lot of possible improvement to be made to the defense.
Dallas has also been suggested as a potential trade candidate, maybe able to use those two picks to move up the board.
Whatever the Cowboys decide to do, though, it'd be tough to justify taking offensive players.
Dallas has a good offense. The defense is a whole different story. If the Cowboys had even an average defense in 2025, they might've made the playoffs.
Jones is already issuing a warning of what Dallas might do. If the Cowboys actually go offense, though, that has the potential to be a major mistake.
Jerry Jones hinted at making a significant move in the 2026 NFL Draft, similar to the decision to draft CeeDee Lamb.
Despite having many defensive needs, Jones indicated that the team's past success with offensive picks could influence their strategy.
The Cowboys drafted CeeDee Lamb during a year when they also needed defensive players, suggesting a willingness to focus on offense again.
