The 2026 PRCA Pioneer Days Rodeo in Clovis, New Mexico produced some big scores from some big names. This Rodeo featured Bareback Bronc Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Breakaway Roping, Tie-Down Roping, Barrel Racing, and Bull Riding with competitors from near and far, mainly from the Southwest region, with a few from as far as Montana.
Overall, this three-day event posted some major scores and major moments. One of the most notable of these events was the womenâs breakaway roping. This event had such a large number of competitors that additional days of slack for this event were added in order to allow all of the competitors to show off their skills in breakaway roping. Among this long list of competitors was the defending WPRA Breakaway Roping World Champion, Taylor Munsell, who posted a 1.8 second run on the first night of the PRCA Pioneer Days Rodeo.
Another notable woman from this weekendâs events was Sydney Graham, who posted a 15.93 second Barrel Racing run on the first night of the rodeo. Coming from a third-place finish in Springville, California, this cowgirl has been posting impressive times and climbing the charts of the WPRA Barrel Racers. As the 2026 season progresses, Sydney is definitely a rider to keep an eye on, as she is expected to continue preforming well in this event.
Overall, the women who competed in this weekendâs Pioneer Days Rodeo have continued to bring their best fight to every competition, with many close times and scores across various events. Clovis, New Mexico has always been a stop that tops the list of many competitors, and this year was no different. Not only was there a large number of notable WPRA competitors, but there were also some major scores posted in the menâs events this weekend.
Bull riding posted multiple scores of 80 or higher with notable rides on night one from Cooper Jacobs and Wyatt Bowman. Cooper Jacobs was able to take home the event win with an 82-point ride on night one, which was a continuance of his recent success in bull riding events across the Southwest region. With multiple event wins under his belt, Copper Jacobs has been regularly posting scores in the mid to upper 80s, and is expected to continue doing well as the 2026 season progresses.
Ultimately, the 2026 PRCA Pioneer Days Rodeo was a large success across the board. Big scores and big payouts were made in every event, and the small town of Clovis, New Mexico was once again able to draw a major crowd to the townâs biggest event of the year.
