When healthy and on the same page with Dak Prescott, the Dallas Cowboysâ dynamic wide receiver tandem of CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens is undoubtedly a top-10 duo.
However, thereâs a belief that Pickens, whoâs on the franchise tag with the Cowboys, could be on the move before the new NFL season commences. The second-team All-Pro wideout wants a secure, long-term deal with the storied NFL franchise, but it doesnât appear to be a realistic possibility at the moment.
As a result, CBS Sportsâ Garrett Podell believes that Pickens is a legitimate trade candidate this offseason, and listed the Los Angeles Chargers, New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, and Baltimore Ravens as potential suitors for the Georgia product.
That said, a recent rumor involving Pickens is discouraging news for the four organizations.
â(Cowboys executive) Stephen Jones said on1053thefan that so far the Cowboys have âhad no one call with interest in George Pickens,â regarding a potential trade,â ESPNâs Todd Archer reported on X/Twitter Tuesday.
Considering Podell listed the Chargers as the team that needs Pickensâ services the most, Los Angeles should hope that the franchise quickly changes their tune and inquires about the former second-round pick.
Although Ladd McConkey is a high-upside young receiver for the Chargers, thereâs uncertainty surrounding Quentin Johnsonâs future in Los Angeles, and thereâs no clear indication that the franchise will bring Keenan Allen back for another season.
Trading for Pickens, an elite jump ball pass catcher and vertical threat who recorded a career-best 1,429 receiving yards and nine touchdowns with the Cowboys last season, would provide the Chargers with much-needed stability at one of the most important positions in football.
If Los Angeles were wise, it would contact the Cowboys on Pickensâ behalf ASAP.

George Pickens is seen as a trade candidate because he is on a franchise tag and is seeking a long-term contract, which the Cowboys may not be able to offer.
The Los Angeles Chargers, New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, and Baltimore Ravens are potential suitors for George Pickens.
If George Pickens is traded, it could significantly affect the Cowboys' offensive strategy and provide a boost to any team that acquires him, particularly the interested franchises.
