WSL sees legendary players like Bright and Kerr move on, marking a new chapter.
The Dallas Cowboys face a challenging 2026 schedule with tough road games and a demanding travel schedule. To be Super Bowl contenders, they must excel in hostile environments away from home.
From having one of the toughest strength of schedule rankings, to the amount of miles they’ll have to travel this season, the Dallas Cowboys have a brutal schedule ahead of them in 2026. There’s a lot of optimism the Cowboys could be potential Super Bowl contenders this year, but to reach that goal they are going to have to win multiple games in hostile territory this season.
It’s no secret the Cowboys have been much more successful playing in front of their fans at home at AT&T Stadium over the past several years, but less so when they have to hit the road. That’s to be expected, hence the term “home-field advantage”. The way the schedule shakes up this year, they not only have to continue their home dominance, but find a way to be road warriors as well if they want to have success.
Unfortunately, the NFL schedule makers didn’t do the Cowboys any favors as far as their away games are concerned. Several of the road games this year are against some of the most talented teams in the league. Then factor in how the schedule plays out on a week-to-week basis this year, and the Cowboys are definitely going to have to find a way to win games against top-tier competition on the road.

*technically a home game, but in reality on the road
The Cowboys kick off the 2026 NFL season on the road against their division rival, the New York Giants. Dallas has pretty much owned the Giants recently, and that should continue once again in the season opener. This could be the most winnable away game for them this year.
After Week 1, the Cowboys road games get much more difficult, starting with the international one in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil against the Baltimore Ravens. Traveling so far to play such a talented team will be the first true test of how well or not the Cowboys perform on the road this season.
From their Brazil trip, the Cowboys return home and hit the road again to take on a talented Houston Texans team. Houston’s defense has the talent to neutralize Dallas’ high-powered offense, making this yet another really tough road matchup in back-to-back weeks for the Cowboys.
The Cowboys have yet another tough back-to-back starting in Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football, immediately followed by a Monday Night Football matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. That’s another couple of weeks Dallas will need to prove they can be road warriors.
After facing the Eagles in primetime, the Cowboys return home for one game, but then immediately hit the road again to take on the Indianapolis Colts. This should be one of the more winnable road games on their schedule, however, Indianapolis is talented enough to give them some trouble.
The Cowboys face their toughest road game opponents towards the end of the season in Week 13 against the Seattle Seahawks and Week 15 against Los Angeles Rams. Both teams are serious Super Bowl contenders in the NFC this year. They do have a Week 14 bye week that may or may not help them with these two matchups.
Dallas will close out the season on the road in a divisional matchup with the Washington Commanders. This game may or may not have playoff implications or determine who wins the NFC East division. Only time will tell how important this final road game will be for the Cowboys.
The Cowboys absolutely need to be road warriors this year if they want to have any chance of having a successful 2026 season. They have the talent throughout the roster now in all three phases the game to compete with any team around the league. Now they just have to go out and prove it.
