As Woodsâ DUI case continues to move forward, some Floridians have voiced what they believe justice should look like in the matter.
According to Us Weekly, several people wrote stern letters to the judge overseeing the case, urging the court to âthrow the bookâ at the golfer, whose long history of run-ins with the law has never resulted in actual jail time.
One of the letters, reportedly written by the owner of a prison consulting company, claimed that the âpattern is alarmingâ and argued Woods should have faced harsher punishment long ago over his previous legal troubles.
âThe purpose of sentencing is also deterrence, public safety, accountability, and prevention before someone is killed. This may be one of the last opportunities to stop this pattern before an innocent person is seriously injured or killed on a public roadway,â the individual added.

Beyond advocating for a harsh sentence as a deterrent against future behavior, the man also argued that such a ruling would help restore public confidence in a justice system that should remain free from outside influence.
âThis case gives Martin County an opportunity to show the public that justice is not controlled by celebrity status, wealth, political friendships, or public-relations pressure,â the individual added.
To support his argument, the observer pointed to Woodsâ ties to several powerful political figures. Among those mentioned was Donald Trump, who publicly expressed support for Woods after the crash and referred to him as a âvery close friendâ during an interview.

A separate letter from yet another party demanded that Woodsâ license be permanently revoked. The write-up argued that the golfer poses a potential risk to other drivers due to his recurring driving incidents.
The individual, who is reportedly a radio presenter, also asked for Woods to be jailed as âhe is a danger to society.â The critic appeared to suggest that this request may be the strongest form of justice the public could realistically expect.
âThe judge will probably tell him heâs lucky he did not kill a family, a child, or a pregnant woman before he is told to do jail time,â the individual added.
After posting bond, Woods released a statement expressing regret over his actions and said the âseriousnessâ of the situation was not lost on him.
He then announced plans to enter rehab to focus on getting better, although he did not reveal where the rehabilitation would take place.
âI am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health,â Woods wrote on Instagram.
âIâm committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones, and myself at this time.â
