Starter **Eli Jerzembeck** didn’t make it out of the second inning today as he gave up one run in the first and five more in the second. His final line was six runs on seven hits over 1.2 innings. He struck out two and walked two. **Jackson Brockett** gave the Cubs 3.1 innings of relief while allowing just one run on four hits. He walked one and struck out one. Shortstop **Ty Southisene** continued to hit, going 3 for 5 with an RBI double in the top of the first inning. He also stole two bases. Southisene scored one run and had three total RBI. The Myrtle Beach Pelicans bogied against the Augusta Green Jackets (Braves), 3-1. **Pierce Coppola** started this one and got the loss after surrendering two runs on four hits over 3.2 innings. McGwire gave up a solo home run in the seventh inning, but that was the only run he allowed on three hits over 4.1 innings. McGwire struck out eight and walked no one.
