DALLAS â The No.25 Iowa State womenâs golf team achieved a landmark victory by capturing their first-ever Big 12 Championship. This triumph represents the programâs first conference title in over three decades, dating back to their 1993 Big 8 win.
Competing at the Dallas Athletic Clubâs Gold Course â a par-72 layout spanning 6,270 yards â the team overcame a significant six-stroke deficit at the start of the final round to ultimately win the tournament by a six-shot margin over runner-up Houston.
The Cyclonitasâ final-round performance was nothing short of historic. They carded a 7-under 281, which was the lowest team round recorded by any of the 14 competing schools across the three-day event. This score set a new school record for a conference championship round and ranks as the seventh-lowest single round in Big 12 Championship history. Their cumulative three-day total of 859 (-5) also established a new program benchmark for a Big 12 tournament. A primary driver of this success was the teamâs aggressive scoring; Iowa State led the entire field with 49 birdies. Their final-day surge began immediately, with the five-player lineup combined for eight birdies on just the first two holes.
On an individual level, sophomore Nichakorn Pinprayoon secured a share of the conference title, earning co-medalist honors alongside UCFâs Mila Jurine. Both finished the 54-hole tournament at seven-under par (209). Pinprayoonâs victory was secured through a high-pressure finish on the 18th hole; after her tee shot found a penalty area, she played her third shot onto the fringe from 150 yards out and drained a 25-foot par putt to clinch her 5-under 67.

Alexandra Vidal Rivera also secured a top-20 finish, tying for 16th place with a three-over-par 219. Rounding out the historic lineup, Isabella Yan and Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn both finished tied for 19th place with totals of 220 (+4).
