Cyrus Allen, UC Bearcats WR goes to Chiefs in round 5 of NFL draft

The top receiver for the Cincinnati Bearcats in 2025 has been selected in the draft, despite not receiving an invite to the NFL Combine.

Cyrus Allen has been picked by in the 5th round of the NFL draft by the Kansas City Chiefs.

At 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, Allen moved up the charts with a good Senior Bowl performance and consistent work ethic. At UC's Pro Day, he ran a 4.47 40-yard dash, had a vertical leap of 36" and a broad jump of 11'. He also ran the day's most impressive routes, catching passes from current UC quarterback JC French IV.

Allen had 46 catches at Louisiana Tech in 2023 before transferring to Texas A&M, where he caught 18 balls in 2024. Transferring to the Bearcats, he stepped up his production as he led the team with 51 receptions and 13 touchdowns, tying a school record for receivers.

Allen returns to Arrowhead Stadium now where he played his first game for UC, catching five passes for 41 yards in their opening 20-17 loss to Nebraska at the Chiefs' venue.
