WR Flowers: Harbaugh's practices led to injuries
Zay Flowers claims Harbaugh's tough practices led to injuries for Ravens players.
Texas A&M is projected to host a regional in the NCAA Tournament after rising to No. 7 in college baseball rankings. The Aggies are currently 28-7 and will face LSU next, aiming for a strong finish to secure a top seed.
Texas A&M rose to No. 7 nationally in USA TODAY Sports' college baseball rankings after sweeping rival Texas last weekend, sitting 28-7 and 9-5 in SEC play, and have hit the road to take on LSU (23-15, 6-9 SEC), and while playing in Alex Box Stadium is never an easy task, the Aggie offense continues to dominate after scoring 20 combined runs in both wins over the Longhorns.
After blowing out Houston 10-2 on Tuesday night, star juniors Caden Sorrell and Gavin Grahovac have yet to slow down at the plate, which needs to continue against the Tigers, who have struggled on the mound during conference play, allowing 26 runs against Ole Miss, as the Rebels swept LSU last weekend.
Still, no matter the record, the SEC is highly unpredictable, especially for road teams, and for the Aggies to have to have a shot at leaving Louisiana with a series win, coach Michael Earley's new pitching rotation, now featuring sophomore Aiden Sims as the Saturday starter, must limit the Tigers from taking an early lead to provide the home team confidence on the mound.
Looking ahead after facing LSU, Texas A&M will face Florida on the road, Auburn at home, Ole Miss on the road, and host Mississippi State to end the regular season before the SEC Tournament. If the Aggies finish strong, they're guaranteed a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament, and at this point, D1Baseball's latest Tournament projections have the Aggies at the 9th overall seed, hosting a regional with Miami, Kansas State, and Southeast Louisiana.
After losing their first two SEC series to Oklahoma and Georgia, back-to-back wins over Vanderbilt and Texas are impressive but just the start of what the program needs to accomplish to host a regional.
