Texas A&M is projected as a Top 10 seed in the NCAA Tournament despite recent losses. The Aggies are set to host Mississippi State for their final regular-season series.

No. 10 Texas A&M (37-12, 16-10 SEC) has now lost consecutive SEC series to Auburn and Ole Miss, and will host No. 13 Mississippi State for the final regular-season series before the SEC Tournament, starting on Thursday night. Looking ahead, the Aggies, despite losing four of their last seven games, are in a great position to earn a top 10 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Still, the national projections are varied, including USA TODAY Sports predicting Texas A&M to earn the No. 11 seed, while D1Baseball has continued to play in the Aggies' favor, taking into account the program's strong reśume, including double-digit Quad 1 victories, while coach Mike Earley's team has yet to be swept in SEC play, paired with Georgia, Texas, and Kentucky.
However, the Aggies are dealing with significant injury issues that likely led to last weekend's rubber match loss to Ole Miss, as freshmen starting infielders Boston Kellner and Nico Partida have missed multiple games. While Partida's status remains unknown, Earley stated on Monday that Boston Kellner could return for the weekend series, barring any setbacks.
On Tuesday, D1Baseball's experienced writers released their latest NCAA Tournament projections, keeping Texas A&M as the No. 8 national seed in the College Station Regional, hosting a field consisting of No. 24 Cincinnati, UTSA, and Binghamton. If Texas A&M defeats Mississippi State, I fully expect the Aggies to earn as high as the 6-seed heading into Selection Sunday.
