BUFFALO, NY – Game 1 was going the way the Bruins wanted, then it didn’t.
The Sabres scored four times in under seven minutes and took a 1-0 series lead. It was the first playoff game in Buffalo in a long time, but the fans left their mark. It was loud. When the Sabres scored goal No. 3, the building was shaking.
Elsewhere around the league, the second day of the Stanley Cup Playoffs delivered. The other game in the Atlantic Division featured the first overtime of the 2026 playoffs, and the Avalanche and Golden Knights each jumped to a series lead.
The Oilers and Ducks open their first-round matchup tonight, and the Oilers might be getting a boost with the return of a superstar.
Happy Patriots Day/Marathon Monday to those who are local, and if you are not, Happy Monday.
