A big highlight of the 36th Annual Children's Cancer Fund Gala was the fashion show, where the Dallas Cowboys QBs Troy Aikman, Tony Romo, and Dak Prescott walked the runway with pediatric cancer patients. Their participation continued the âQuarterbacks for a Cureâ tradition, which Cowboys legend Roger Staubach originally launched.
The event featured 18 pediatric cancer patients, ages 5 to 15, who confidently modeled outfits provided by Dillardâs. The gala set a new fundraising milestone, raising a record-breaking $4 million for pediatric cancer research, surpassing last yearâs total of $3 million. Organizers described the achievement as a clear sign of growing support and momentum in North Texasâ ongoing fight against childhood cancer.
Prescott served as Honorary Chair for the fourth consecutive year and played a central role in the evening. Prescott is now a father of two and said that parenthood has deepened his perspective, expanding his concern not only for the children battling illness but also for their families and broader support systems. He also said that he didnât need much persuasion to stay involved with the cause.

"When Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman call you and tell you they've been part of something for 30 years, you're saying, 'Hey, sign me up,'" Prescott said, via the Cowboysâ website. "It's not about following them - it's about inspiring the kids, being there for them and their families, and being the neighbor God allows me to be."
Aikman celebrated his 27th year of supporting the fund, and he also said he believes being a quarterback for the Cowboys carries an added responsibility to give back. He also pointed to a âlegacyâ among Cowboys quarterbacks, tied to charitable efforts like this gala, in which community impact has become just as important as on-field success.
