The Dallas Cowboys are considering signing free-agent cornerback Adoree Jackson, who has connections to their defensive coordinator. The team is looking to strengthen their cornerback position after the NFL draft.
The Dallas Cowboys are still tinkering with their roster in the wake of the NFL draft and invited a free-agent cornerback with ties to their current defensive coordinator in for a visit.
Dallas could use another cornerback, though the Cowboys now look to be set at safety, which was the subject of an early power ranking that has Dallas dead middle of the 32-team league.

Meanwhile, a free agent who was part of Dallas' problem last year, when they had the worst defense in the league, was given new life by the defending Super Bowl champions. Here is Dallas' day.
Dallas still has one spot to fill on its 90-player roster and they may have their man, as they met with free agent cornerback Adoree Jackson at their facility Tuesday May 5. That's per a report from NFL Insider Jordan Schultz.

The move would make sense, as Dallas could use a veteran cornerback and Jackson's position coach last year at Philadelphia was new Cowboys defensive coordinator Christian Parker.
The Cowboys are interested in Adoree Jackson due to his ties with their current defensive coordinator and the need for additional cornerback depth.
Adoree Jackson is currently a free agent after previously playing for the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Cowboys' safety position is ranked in the middle of the league according to an early power ranking.
In addition to potentially signing Jackson, the Cowboys are also evaluating their roster following the NFL draft and rookie minicamp.

The 30-year-old started 10 games for the Eagles last year and recorded 55 tackles, 11 pass breakups and one interception.
Early power rankings are starting to come out and the Cowboys are holding down the middle of the pack. ESPNâs power rankings are their first since the âWay too earlyâ list two months ago, and in that span, Dallas has moved up two spots from 18th to 16th.
The theme of these rankings is each teamâs most improved position and Dallasâ was easy to identify: Safety.
Todd Archer writes: âThe Cowboys signed Jalen Thompson to their richest free agent deal since 2012 (three years, $33 million). They also added P.J. Locke in free agency. But they tripled down at safety, trading up one spot to take Ohio State's Caleb Downs. He not only was the best safety in the draft but also was considered perhaps the best overall prospect. A large part of new coordinator Christian Parker's scheme will be based on versatility; Thompson, Locke and, certainly, Downs can and will play multiple spots.
"A year ago, the Cowboys had Malik Hooker and Donovan Wilson as their starting safeties. Hooker remains, but Wilson is still unsigned. The backups were Markquese Bell and Juanyeh Thomas. Bell is still there, but his role will be altered by the 2026 additions."
Edge rusher Dante Fowler, who started 11 games last year for Dallas while recording three sacks, has a new home in Seattle. The Seahawks signed the 11-year pro for a one-year deal worth $5 million.
Fowler was the No. 3 overall pick by Jacksonville in 2015, though he missed his rookie year with a torn ACL. He was with Dallas in 2022 and '23, then again last season, which was his least productive year as a pro.
Because he signed with Seattle after the draft, Dallas will receive no compensation.
Here are the players Dallas has subtracted this offseason:
Brock Hoffman (OL): Signed with Pittsburgh Steelers.
Jalen Tolbert (WR): Signed with Miami Dolphins.
Dante Fowler Jr. (EDGE): Signed with Seattle Seahawks.
Juanyeh Thomas (S): Departed in free agency.
Rico Dowdle (RB): Signed with Carolina Panthers.
DeMarcus Lawrence (DE): Signed with Seattle Seahawks.
Osa Odighizuwa (DT): Traded.
Solomon Thomas (DT): Traded.
A big move early in the offseason by Dallas was signing last year's breakout running back, Javonte Williams, to a three-year, $24-million deal. Behind him are Malik Davis and Jaydon Blue.
Dallas could be in the market for an upgrade at No. 2 tailback, which rates as a need behind another inside linebacker.
One of the biggest names still on the free agent market is 30-year-old edge rusher Joey Bosa, and yes, the Cowboys have been linked to him.
That comes from CBS Sports' Zachary Pereles, who produced a column outlining a post-draft move for every team.
Pereles writes: "The Cowboys want to win right now, and Bosa could help. Currently, Dallas is depending on Rashan Gary, who really struggled last year, rookie Malachi Lawrence and second-year player Donovan Ezeiruaku, who had just two sacks as a rookie, as their primary pass rushers. Bosa had five sacks, five forced fumbles and nine TFL last year in Buffalo."
A former No. 3 pick by the Chargers in 2015, he spent his entire career with that franchise before ending up in Buffalo last year on a one-year deal.
