Denzel Boston, a former Washington Huskies wide receiver, is projected to be selected by the Kansas City Chiefs with the No. 29 pick in the NFL draft. This pairing would connect him with two-time MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes, enhancing the Chiefs' passing attack.

With just a week left before the start of the NFL draft, it feels like former Washington Huskies star wide receiver Denzel Boston has been paired with just about every team in the back half of the first round as mock draft season continues.
The Athletic's Dane Brugler added another team to that mix on Wednesday, when he projected that Boston would be selected with the No. 29 overall pick by the Kansas City Chiefs. Not only would that pair the 6-foot-4 pass catcher with three-time Super Bowl champion and two-time MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but Boston would also be a great fit in coach Andy Reid's offense.
As the Chiefs look to retool their passing attack with former first-round pick Xavier Worthy's injury history and the off-field troubles of Rashee Rice, while re-signing aging All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce to a three-year contract extension in March, Boston would be a reliable target that Mahomes, who is recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in December, can rely on at all three levels of the field.
"The Chiefs have used a top-60 draft pick at wide receiver in three of the past four drafts, but the position remains unsettled for them," Brugler wrote in his reasoning for the pick. "Boston is a tall ball winner and would be somewhat of a pivot from what this team normally drafts early at the position."
Throughout his college career, where he racked up 132 catches for 1,781 yards and 20 touchdowns, Boston proved that he could do a little bit of everything, especially once Jedd Fisch's coaching staff took over. He lined up everywhere, from the traditional X spot to in the slot, and even in the backfield, which could make him the type of weapon Reid is looking for as Mahomes enters the next phase of his career.
If Boston were to wind up in Kansas City, it would also be an interesting full-circle moment, after general manager Brent Veach acquired the pick by trading another former UW star, cornerback Trent McDuffie, to the Los Angeles Rams.
