Torres doubled before BC made a change in the circle, going to Kelly Colleran. For her first batter of the day, Colleran gave up an RBI double to Beachum. By the end of the inning, it was a 7-0 lead for the Seminoles.
For BC in the bottom of the inning, Danley saw a lead off baserunner, only off of an error. Much like her first inning, a double play erased the runner and put two outs on the board. Her seventh strike out of the day kept the Eagles from reaching base again.
Colleran had a 1-2-3 inning of the FSU offense, sending her team to the plate. With Danley back in the circle, a ground out put one out on the board. Following, a sneaky hit down the line broke up FSU’s possible second straight no hitter, as well as putting a runner on second base.
Looking to not only extend their lead, but get into run rule territory, the one out single from Griggs put a runner on base. The double off the bat Makenna Sturgis brought home Griggs and turned the lineup over. Besides a walk, Colleran limited the Seminoles to just the lone run.
Now a 8-0 game, Danley continued to cruse, getting her ninth strike out of the day, setting a season high for the junior. Two singlse kept the inning going with two outs, but Danley got her tenth strikeout of the day to end the 8-0 win.
