The Boston Bruins narrowly escaped Game 5 with a win over the Buffalo Sabres. They were only able to beat goaltender Alex Lyon one time in regulation. Still, it took only nine minutes of overtime hockey to spring superstar forward David Pastrnak loose in the attacking zone.
Pastrnak told TNT analyst Paul Bissonette that he told his linemate before jumping the boards that they were going to end the game during that shift.
"I turned to (Pavel) Zacha on the bench, and I said, 'We are going to get one on this next shift,'" Pastrnak told Bissonnette. "Because that line before us -- I think it was (Elias Lindholm) Lindy's line with (Morgan Geekie) Geeks -- had a big block and they survived a huge push by Buffalo.

"We kind of felt like we could get one, and it's kind of funny it worked out."
Pastrnak also elaborated on his overtime winner. The play has sparked a minor debate (mostly from the notorious troll and Bruins hater Bissonnette) over Pastrnak barely keeping his skate on the right side of the blue line while receiving a pass from Hampus Lindholm.
"(Lindholm) put enough juice on it that I was able to stretch my left leg a little bit and keep my speed at the same time," Pastrnak told Bissonnette. "Obviously, I had a couple of breaks in this series that didn't go my way. So I tried this move, and I'm glad it worked out, and I stayed onside."
Pastrnak has been held scoreless at home in this series, but will be looking to change that and keep the series alive once more in Game 6 on Friday night.
