Marc Marquez is currently 44 points behind Marco Bezzecchi in the standings, but Davide Brivio believes there's no need for concern at this stage of the season. Marquez's recent crash at the Spanish Grand Prix further impacted his chances of closing the gap.

Even though Marc Marquez is facing the biggest points gap of his career this early in the season, Davide Brivio doesnât think thereâs any reason to worry just yet.
Marquezâs hopes of catching up took another hit after he crashed out early in the Spanish Grand Prix, which could have been his best chance to gain ground on the leaders.
The incident also widened Bezzecchiâs lead over him to 44 points, making it a tough task even this early in the calendar.
There were questions about whether Marquez was still feeling the effects of his past injuries during that race. Others believe he can still close that gap if things start going his way.
Despite all that, Trackhouse team boss Davide Brivio still thinks Marquez will back himself to find a way back into the title race before itâs too late.

Speaking on a live stream with Giovanni Zamagni, Trackhouse team principal Davide Brivio was asked how Marc Marquez will approach the rest of the season after his crash at the Spanish Grand Prix.
Brivio noted that while Marquez wonât be happy about the crash, he knows he can close the gap. Last yearâs championship win means he has little to prove, allowing him to fight as hard as he wants without feeling disappointed by the outcome.
âI asked myself this because yesterday, after the sprint, I thought, since he came back to within 24 points of Bezzecchi, the experience he probably has, and in the condition he is in, he says, âWell, okay, 24 points, there are 18 races left, letâs start working to recover them calmly and peacefullyâŠ
Davide Brivio suggests that despite the 44-point gap, there is still plenty of time left in the season for Marquez to recover.
Marc Marquez crashed out early in the Spanish Grand Prix, which hindered his chances to gain points on the leaders.
The 44-point gap is the largest Marquez has faced this early in a season, making it a challenging situation for him.
Marquez's crash at the Spanish Grand Prix has made it more difficult for him to close the points gap to Bezzecchi, impacting his championship aspirations.

âLast season gave him great peace of mind. Heâs at peace with himself. He has closed the circle. So I think heâs saying now, âI have 54 points. Now Iâm going to try to push and recover, and see where I get.â But I donât think thereâs any pressure, any tension. I think heâs pretty calm overall.
âAngry, disappointed? Maybe because heâs done. But you donât see him losing his head. Because he doesnât have the advantage from last year, heâll try and say, âOkay, great, 54 points, now Iâll try and win it. Then youâll see an incredible story in the end, if I canât, never mind. Iâm fine.â
âItâs not that heâs not motivated, but he isnât motivated with anxiety to win at all costs. That would lead to disaster. Maybe he had that last year. But he doesnât have it now. I think heâs enjoying the moment more, the possible comeback, the races.â
MotoGP reporter Mela Chercoles, speaking on a livestream for the Nicoabad YouTube channel, shared Marquezâs reaction after being told about the gap to Bezzecchi.
âThere was a curious anecdote with Marc on Thursday. He was telling us that he was 37 points behind the leader, that it was good, he had started recovering, and I told him, âHey, donât give away points, youâre 36 behind, not 37.â
âHe goes, âWow, well then I can start Sunday as the leader!â Heâs got his head on the wall for doubles. He knows he is going for Jerez. Itâs not his circuit anymore. He hasnât won there since 2019âŠâ
Marquez isnât letting himself get too concerned by the gap between him and Bezzecchi.
Weâll have to wait and see if this approach leads to a title push later in the season. But for now at least, Marquez seems to be handling things sensibly.
