During a recent episode of his See Ball Get Ball show, former ESPN analyst and ex-Georgia linebacker David Pollack weighed in on Dabo Swinney and the future of Clemson football.
Pollack admitted he was âall inâ on Clemson entering last season after predicting the Tigers would win it all in 2025, only to watch the program stumble to a disappointing 7-6 finish.
Still, Pollack doesnât believe Clemsonâs struggles are a sign the program is falling apart.
âListen, I respect Dabo doing it his way,â Pollack said. âI donât think next year theyâre going to bounce back and win 11 games, but I donât expect them to be near what they were a year ago. I do think they still have a ton of talent on their roster.â
Despite Clemson missing expectations recently, Pollack said heâs still betting on Swinney long term because of everything heâs accomplished.
âWhen you win as much as he has, and when you are the type of leader and the type of man he is, and what youâve done at Clemson â like, you got two national titles, bro,â Pollack said. âIâm betting on Dabo. Letâs put it that way.â
Pollack also doesnât believe Swinney is in danger of losing his job anytime soon.
âIf he has another season where he wins eight games, nine games â I donât think heâs going to be fired,â Pollack said. âI donât think thatâs the case.â
According to Pollack, Clemsonâs biggest issue moving forward is simple: finding the right quarterback.
âTheyâre going to have to find their quarterback,â Pollack said. âCade Klubnik, a couple years ago, that dude had an unbelievable season⊠But they dang sure better find a guy to spin it.â
Pollack added that while Clemson needs to improve on the field, Swinney still deserves credit for the culture heâs built within the program.
âWhat we do is graduate players. What we do is retain players,â Pollack said of Clemsonâs culture. âPeople donât leave Clemson for a reason.â
David Pollack expressed that he respects Dabo Swinney's approach and believes Clemson still has a lot of talent, despite a tough season.
Clemson finished the season with a disappointing record of 7-6.
Pollack does not expect Clemson to win 11 games next season but believes they will improve from last year's performance.
