Deen’s Daily: Will Manson Travel with Avalanche?; Another Norris Nomination For Makar; Hurricanes Can Sweep Again

The Colorado Avalanche still have a decision to make for their Minnesota road trip. Cale Makar was named a Norris finalist again. Also, another Carolina win, and Montreal is looking to bounceback in Game 2 in Buffalo.

Colorado Hockey Now

The Avalnache will not practice today, instead opting to stay off the ice ahead of their flight to Minnesota. The team practiced on Friday without Cale Makar or Josh Manson on the ice.

Head coach Jared Bednar said that Makar’s absence was a maintenance day. Meanwhile, Manson didn’t skate but still might join the team for the trip with a chance to play in one of these games. We’ll have to see what happens in these next few hours. If Manson can’t play, expect the Avs to bring up someone like Jack Ahcan so they can travel with seven defensemen.

Speaking of Makar, he was named a finalist for the Norris Trophy for the sixth consecutive season.
