Deion Sanders sat down with Garrett Bush, a Cleveland media member, for a long interview in which he discussed his love for Colorado, especially his relationship with Shedeur, and his view of his son's situation with the Browns.
It has been well documented how Shedeur's entrance into the NFL was rocky at best, with his draft slide and then being buried on the depth chart during his first offseason. The elder Sanders made it clear that this year, with Browns' new head coach Todd Monken leading the way, the relationship with the organization has improved.
"I love him [Monken]. He's a straight shooter," Sanders said on "The Barbershop" podcast. "He keeps it a buck. I want to meet him because I think it is vital that as a coach, not a dad, I can tell him a few things about Shedeur on how to get him going. That wasn't asked of me a year ago. I can't wait to have that conversation with Coach Monken."
While never put entirely out in the open, it seemed the Sanders family had some issues with how former Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski handled Shedeur's development. That has definitely flipped this year, with Monken and Sanders forming a close bond this offseason, going all the way back to a few days after he was hired.
Shedeur is in a better place with the Browns as he enters his second NFL season, and his father seems to agree, based on his most recent comments.
