Deion Sanders recently underwent a procedure to address recurring blood clots but stated he is doing well and will be present in Boulder this summer. This health issue only caused him to miss a few days and was disclosed after a spring football game.
Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders revealed after Saturday's spring football game that he recently underwent another procedure to treat recurring blood clot issues. Sanders said, "he's good," and plans to be around Boulder this summer, unlike last year when he was recovering from bladder cancer.
The most recent health hiccup only caused Sanders to miss a few days, but it occurred three weeks ago, and he only revealed the issue this weekend.
"Iâm sorry I didnât tell you guys," Sanders said at his post-spring game press conference.
Sanders has battled blood clots since before his first season in Boulder and had to go in for surgery following a game last fall. The entire offseason has felt different with Sanders around the team, and he feels it, too.
"Everybody inside these doors could tell you itâs different when Iâm here," Sanders said Saturday. "Iâm gonna go fishing, believe that. ⊠Iâm gonna take my breaks like every other coach. But I love to be here anyway."
The Buffaloes will now have a few months off before returning in the summer for workouts and training camp practices.
