A 20-year-old man from Cornwall has become the men's junior skeet world champion after claiming gold in Cairo, Egypt.
Denzil Grose from St Austell fended off Italy's Marco Coco who took silver and Finland's Lassi Kauppinen took bronze on Wednesday.
In winning his first world cup medal, Grose also set a new junior world record.
He is part of the British Shooting Olympic fast track programme and said after he had performed "the best I ever have" in Cairo, he had his sights on the Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028.
Grose said he had started shooting at the age of seven. He said: "I started, I got better at it and I won a couple of charity events in Cornwall.
"Then I got selected for the British Shooting pathway, a programme to the GB team.
"A few years after that I was selected for the GB team and progressed from there and now I'm full time in the GB team."
He said the championships in Cairo had been "the world's best versus the world's best".
"We never expected it to go this far when I started and it still doesn't feel real, to be honest," the 20-year-old reflected.
