Questions will continue to be prevalent about what LeBron James wants to do in the future of his NBA career. There are a slew of options that James can choose from, including retirement, re-signing with the Los Angeles Lakers, or going to free agency.

At this stage of his career, there's absolutely nothing else James has to prove, so playing would just be to continue competing at a very high level.

While he isn't what he once was, and nobody should blame him for that, considering he's 41 years old, he's still a really good player and, on the right team, can still be a very big supporting piece of a championship squad.

It's possible that the Lakers don't want to bring him back, as crazy as that might sound, but the Luka Doncic situation is definitely there. Doncic probably deserves to get his own team, and the Lakers might prefer that.

Searching for potential landing spots if the Lakers want to go in that direction or James believes he'd be better suited elsewhere, the New York Knicks continue to come up.
