The Tigers entered a rain delay ahead of the finale of the three-game series against the Kansas City Royals at Comerica Park, due to inclement weather. If the rain continues, the American League Central rivals would be required to play the game at a later date.

It's unclear if the game will be played.
"I don't know what happens today," manager A.J. Hinch said before Thursday's postponement. "We'll meet as it gets closer to game time, but it's obviously a mess out there."

Without Thursday's game, the Tigers (9-9) wouldn't play until Friday (7:15 p.m., Apple TV) against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.
The pitching matchup for Thursday was supposed to be right-hander Keider Montero for the Tigers and left-hander Kris Bubic for the Royals. If it's postponed, Montero would be lined up to start Friday's series opener against the Red Sox.

"I was talking to Q [Royals manager Matt Quatraro] across the way," Hinch said. "Obviously, we all want safety and a window, as they say, but there's a lot of unknown going into the day."
