Milwaukee Brewers pitching just wasn't able to keep Arizona Diamondbacks hitters in check on Wednesday night. Four Diamondbacks slammed home runs and Arizona notched a 6-2 win over the Brewers at American Family Field on Wednesday night.
Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Sproat saw his record fall to 0-2 this season with a 6.75 ERA as well. Four Diamondbacks -- Adrian Del Castillo, Nolan Arenado, Ketel Marte, and Corbin Carroll -- took Brewers pitching deep.
Things, though, started out on the right foot for the Brewers. With Brice Turang at second base with two outs, Jake Bauers doubled to drive in Turang and put Milwaukee up 1-0.
Turang then decided to join the RBI party. With Brandon Lockridge at first base with nobody out, Turang took a 3-2 pitch from Diamondbacks starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez deep into the outfield.
Lockridge scored and that gave the Brewers a 2-0 lead.
Then. Sproat ran into trouble in the fourth inning. With out, the Diamondbacks' Del Castillo hit his fifth homer this season, a solo shot with one out and Arizona cut the Milwaukee lead in half at 2-1.
The final score was 6-2 in favor of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Adrian Del Castillo, Nolan Arenado, Ketel Marte, and Corbin Carroll each hit home runs for the Diamondbacks.
Brandon Sproat's record is now 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA.

Arizona's Ildemaro Vargas, who continued his consecutive game hit streak to 25 games over two seasons, and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. reached base, still with one out. Arenado stepped up to the plate and mashed a three-run home run over the left-center field wall.
With that, the Diamondbacks took a 4-2 lead.
Unfortunately, the Brewers were not able to score anymore runs on Wednesday night. The Diamondbacks added two more runs in the top of the ninth inning as Marte and Carroll went back-to-back with home runs.
Brewers reliever Grant Anderson gave up those homers to the Diamondbacks, sealing up the loss for Milwaukee.
With the defeat, the Brewers fall to 15-14 this season, putting them in fourth place in the National League Central Division. The Diamondbacks go to 15-13 this season, putting them in third place in the National League West Division.
This loss will be one that Brewers manager Pat Murphy will look at pretty closely. Milwaukee did have traffic on the basepaths on Wednesday night. The Brewers went 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position and left eight runners on base.
So, the chances to add to their run total were there. The big hits just didn't materialize for the Brew Crew against the Diamondbacks.
For some good news, Jackson Chourio and Andrew Vaughn are starting rehabilitation assignments. They are targeted to return to the big-league club by Monday. The Brewers will welcome them back when they return.
