Diego Pavia didn't hear his name called in the 2026 NFL Draft but got his opportunity at the next level with the Baltimore Ravens. The team's minicamp ended on Saturday with head coach Jesse Minter addressing the media on what he saw from the sidelines.
Given how Pavia was skipped over after putting up an outstanding season at Vanderbilt, many would believe he would be coming in with a chip on his shoulder. While this still might be true, none of that showed during the first two days with his first NFL franchise.
"Honestly, it's the first two days," Minter told reporters about Pavia. "It's just so much learning. So much about getting acclimated to how we operate, especially to a new offense from a quarterback's perspective."
Pavia threw with a helmet and no pads for his session on Saturday. The Heisman runner-up was one of three quarterbacks on the field with UConn's Joe Fagnano and James Madison's Billy Atkins. Pavia wore No. 17 during minicamp.

The 5-foot-9, 203-pounder joined Baltimore after signing a three-year deal. Whether he'll make the final 53-man roster or not is too early to determine. However, the first impression was positive, according to Minter.
"I know the program that (Pavia) came from. I know, a lot of people that worked with him, Minter added. What I think is that he's a good person. He's a really, really hard worker. I think he really helped elevate that program in the SEC playing against really good competition. So now he's just in the door. And it's like, show us what you can do. Let the chips fall where they may. And it's like that for the undrafted rookies."
