Phoenix Suns star Dillon Brooks shared his unfiltered thoughts after losing Game 2 to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the opening round of the playoffs.
Brooks recorded a team-high 30 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assist in the loss while logging 40 minutes of action against Oklahoma City. Early in the game, following a missed shot from Gilgeous-Alexander when Brooks was the defender, the Suns forward yelled at the 2025 NBA Finals MVP.
After scoring on him later in the match, Gilgeous-Alexander taunted Brooks by pointing at him. Brooks and Oklahoma City's Lu Dort were also called for double technicals after getting tangled up together. Gilgeous-Alexander hit the floor following a contest from Brooks as well.
Following the game, Brooks was asked to describe his experience guarding Gilgeous-Alexander. Here is what he said:
"A little frail ... That's what the refs are going to call. You've gotta be smarter about it but it's the playoffs, a man's game. I used to watch this back when Michael Jordan was playing, when LeBron James was younger, it's just physical basketball. I don't get why all the dropping, the falling and the flopping and flailing and all this stuff is allowed when we get to the playoffs.”
Gilgeous-Alexander said he "can't control" what Brooks or any other critics say about his game.
