Dillon Brooks is already setting the tone before the playoffs even begin, and this time, his target is the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder.
Fresh off clinching the eighth seed, Brooks didnât hold back when sizing up what awaits in the first round. His message was clear: physicality will matter, and he is not impressed with how OKC gets to the line.
That edge now becomes central as the Phoenix Suns prepare to walk into one of the toughest playoff matchups possible.
Because facing the No. 1 seed is one thing. Calling them out before the series even starts is something else entirely.

Speaking after the Suns locked in their playoff spot, Brooks didnât sugarcoat his early scouting report in hispostgamecomments.
âThere are a lot of foul baiters on that team. We gotta show our hands. I hope itâs the real playoffs,â Brooks said.
âShow your hands, we gotta follow the scout, funnel them in the paint, and be able to have our rotations proper because they shoot it great at home. There is a reason why they are the No. 1 team in the NBA,â Brooks added.
Dillon Brooks called out the Thunder for being 'foul baiters' and expressed his lack of admiration for their tactics to get to the free-throw line.
The Memphis Grizzlies clinched the eighth seed by winning their recent games, positioning themselves for a playoff matchup against the top-seeded Thunder.
Brooks highlighted that physicality will be crucial in the playoffs, suggesting that it could impact the Grizzlies' performance against the Thunder.

It is a classic Brooks line, direct, confrontational, and designed to put pressure on both the opponent and the officials before the series even tips off.
The emphasis on âshow your handsâ is not accidental either. It points to a defensive approach built around discipline, avoiding cheap fouls, and forcing OKC to score without whistles.
That approach will be tested immediately, because the Thunder are not just the top seed on paper. They have been one of the most efficient teams in the league, especially on their home floor.
OKCâs offense thrives on spacing, ball movement, and players who can both attack the rim and draw contact, which is exactly what Brooks is hinting at with his âfoul baitersâ remark.
For Phoenix, that means defensive precision is non-negotiable. Over-help, and OKC will punish from three. Reach in, and they will live at the line. Miss rotations, and the game gets out of hand quickly, especially in Oklahoma City.
This is what makes the matchup so dangerous. The Suns fought through the Play-In just to get here, and now they run straight into a team that has been dominant all season.
And Brooks clearly knows it. But instead of backing down, he is leaning into the challenge and trying to set the tone before Game 1 even arrives.
