BCIAA baseball champion Wilson starts its quest for a District 3 Class 6A title at home Friday as the fourth seed in the tournament.
The Bulldogs (14-6) host 13th-seeded Northeastern (10-10) at 7 p.m. at Owls Field.
Wilson is one of eight Berks teams to make the tournament, which features six classes.
Muhlenberg qualified in 6A, Exeter and Twin Valley in 5A, Oley Valley in 4A and Berks Catholic, Kutztown and Wyomissing in 3A.
Defending 6A champion Gov. Mifflin (10-10) was ranked 15th in the district’s power rankings and failed to make the tournament. The top 14 teams qualify in 6A with the top two receiving byes.
Wilson won the BCIAA title on Monday, blanking Muhlenberg 10-0 in six innings. Jack Gabel pitched a complete-game shutout for the Bulldogs.
Eleventh-seeded Muhlenberg (11-7) travels to sixth-seeded Manheim Township for a 4:30 p.m. game Friday.
The top two seeds in 6A are No. 1 Hempfield (16-3) and No. 2 Ephrata (15-5).
Class 5A: Exeter (14-6) is the seventh seed and Twin Valley (12-8) is the ninth seed in the 14-team 5A tournament.
The Eagles host 10th-seeded Spring Grove (11-9) at 4 p.m. Friday, and Twin Valley goes to eighth-seeded New Oxford (13-7) for a 4:30 p.m.
The top two seeds in 5A are No. 1 Palmyra (19-2) and No. 2 Lower Dauphin (18-2).
Class 4A: Oley Valley is the sixth seed in the eight-team tourney, which doesn’t start until next week.
The Lynx (15-4) are at East Pennsboro (17-3) for a 4:30 p.m. game on Monday.
The top two seeds in 4A are No. 1 Northern Lebanon (20-0), which opens play against Middletown (13-7), and No. 2 Kennard-Dale (17-2), which hosts Big Spring (13-7).
3A: Half of the six-team field is made up of Berks teams. No. 3 Berks Catholic (14-5) is home Monday against No. 6 Pequea Valley (12-8) in a 4 p.m. game.
The other quarterfinal game on Monday has No. 4 Kutztown (13-7) hosting No. 5 Wyomissing (11-8) at 6:30 p.m. at Kutztown Park.
The top seeds, No. 1 Bermudian Springs (18-2) and No. 2 Trinity (16-4), received byes into the semifinals.
