The Los Angeles Dodgers are officially welcoming back relief pitcher Brock Stewart.
Stewart joined the Boys in Blue in Houston during this three-game series against the Astros, and he could make his season debut as soon as Wednesday morning.
In a corresponding move, pitcher Jake Eder was optioned to the Triple-A Oklahoma City Comets, the team said.
The addition of Stewart brings another righty to the bullpen at the expense of a lefty in Eder.
Stewart was drafted by the Dodgers in 2014 and played for the Boys in Blue from 2016 to 2019, when he was claimed off of waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays.
Stewart returned to the Dodgers at 2025’s trade deadline, but he only pitched in four games before landing on the injured list with shoulder inflammation. He underwent a procedure shortly after and missed the remainder of the season.

The right-hander began his rehab assignment with Single-A Ontario on April 14, and he has been stellar as he started ramping back up. He made two appearances in Single-A, allowing just two baserunners across his two outings at the level, and he’s excelled with Triple-A Oklahoma City as well.
Now, it looks like he could be put to the test at the major-league level against the hated Houston Astros.
“His role with the Dodgers clearly is going to be a guy, hopefully, high-leverage against righties,” said Dodgers Nation’s Doug McKain. “We have to see what he looks like. The beautiful thing about this is they don’t want to go out there and make trades for relievers. They want as many of these guys as options, and Stewart is certainly an option.”
Stewart had a fantastic year for the Minnesota Twins before he came to the Dodgers, posting a 2.38 ERA in 39 appearances. The Dodgers traded James Outman in exchange for Stewart, who came in to assist the injury-riddled bullpen.
Through his four appearances for the Dodgers, Stewart pitched 3.2 innings and struck out three batters, allowing two runs for a 4.91 ERA.
