The Los Angeles Dodgers will begin their three-game home series against the Atlanta Braves on Friday at 7:10 p.m. PT.
The Braves currently have the best record in the National League—tied with the NL Central’s Chicago Cubs—and are looking to further extend their eight-hame lead atop the NL East on their trip to Los Angeles. The Dodgers are fresh off of their first series win in nearly two weeks, and will look to keep their bats hot against a formidable opponent.
LA won two of three games against the Houston Astros on the road during the first series of the week, exploding for eight runs in the first game, then 12 more in the final game of the series. Andy Pages stood out as a top performer in the rubber match, hitting three homers with a spectacular catch in center field to go with them.
The Dodgers and Braves squared off in two three-game series last season, both of which came early in the year. The Dodgers won five of the six games, and will look to continue dominating in the upcoming matchup.

The Dodgers are rolling out the back end of their rotation for their next series, beginning with Emmet Sheehan on Friday. He will take on Cy Young contender Chris Sale in the first game of the set, and will look to overcome the struggles he’s had through the early goings.
Outside of a worrying drop in velocity as games progress, Sheehan has a 5.23 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP through his first six starts of the season.
Roki Sasaki will take on the second game of the series, where he’ll face the recently returned Spencer Strider. Strider, a former Cy Young candidate, has an 8.10 ERA in his sole start this season.
Sasaki is also off to a shaky start this year, thriving early in games but falling off and allowing several runs as the game goes on. He’s striking batters out at a pretty low clip, and has a 5.97 ERA through six starts.
Justin Wrobleski has been a bright spot towards the back of the rotation, and will take on Bryce Elder in the series finale. Both young pitchers are off to electric starts to the season, but Wrobleski has arguably been the Dodgers’ second best starter behind Shohei Ohtani. He has a 1.25 ERA and a 5-0 record, and the only thing missing from his resume is a higher volume of strikeouts—though that hasn’t stopped him yet.
The Dodgers will hope they can continue stringing wins together as they face a real test coming directly out of a slump. Sheehan will throw the first pitch of the series Friday at 7:10 p.m. PT.
