Diaz got shelled in his Friday night outing. He got through an inning, but he gave up three runs, including a home run. He had a three-run lead against the Rangers, who tied it up before the Dodgers won it in the next half inning.
For better or worse, that led Roberts to give Diaz a rest, and now Diaz has sat out two games in a row.
So far this season, his ERA is at 6.00 through 6.0 innings, but that's a super small sample size.
Assuming Diaz isn't actually hurt or anything, it's not a huge deal. But it's not what the Dodgers want to see at any point from their $69 million investment -- he's important to their chances of a three-peat, so they're hoping he is good to go sooner rather than later.
