The April snow did not deter the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Ahead of the Dodgers series opener against the Colorado Rockies on Friday, Mother Nature presented her in full force with snow covering the entire field at Coors Field in Denver, Colo.
Despite a first-pitch temperature of 35 degrees, a Dodgers record, the offense stayed hot with a 7-1 win over Colorado. Los Angeles recorded its fifth straight win.
Heading into the Dodgers' second road trip of the season, Max Muncy was struggling at the plate.
After having himself a three-home run game exactly one week ago at Dodger Stadium, he's only recorded one hit in his last 17 at-bats.
He wiped that deficit clean off, going 3-for-4 at the plate in the Friday win, including blasting a pair of long balls in the frigid weather.
Those two home runs were both leadoff home runs (his first was hit in the second inning and his second in the fifth) and now gives him 21 career multi-homer games.
The rest of the Dodgers offense followed suit as Will Smith logged in two RBIs and Andy Pages added onto his major league-leading RBI total with his 21st on a sacrifice fly.
Right-hander Tyler Glasnow toed the rubber for Los Angeles. The biggest obstacle for him was how he could find his fellow for the ball dealing with the weather, according to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.
Well, it didn't take long for Glasnow to warm up on the mound. He logged in seven strong innings of one-run ball and only gave up two hits. His seven strikeouts marked his third straight start in which he's struck out five-plus batters.
The first-pitch temperature was 35 degrees, setting a Dodgers record.
The Dodgers have now won five straight games.
The final score was 7-1 in favor of the Dodgers.
