Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy made incredible MLB history in the team's win over the Texas Rangers on Friday.
Muncy became the first player in MLB history to have a game with five or more runs, four or more hits, three or more home runs, and a walkoff home run.
The Dodgers won a thriller in the first of a three-game series against the Rangers, 8-7.
Muncy was by far the best player in Friday's game. The 35-year-old finished the contest going 4-for-5 along with three RBIs. Muncy put on his cape to get the Dodgers and their fans home after Edwin Diaz blew his first save of the season; however, he did earn the win.
Muncy got the party started with two solo home runs in his first two at-bats in the contest. He was in a funk entering Friday's contest, going 4-for-26 in April. However, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts had some kind words for the veteran slugger after the contest.
"I think in years past, you'd see a spike in some anxiousness bleed in, where now he's in a place where he's really confident and trusts the process and knows that if he's in a good place and he's not getting the results to kind of stay the course, and tonight showed the results, and so I really commend him for that," Roberts said. "He's just playing the heck out of third base, and he's taking good at-bats, and right now he's had a great start to 2025."
Los Angeles has been no stranger to coming from behind, and that was the case in their first of three contests against the Rangers.
The Dodgers now move to an MLB-best 10-3 record and will look to win the series on Saturday.
