Zach Ehrhard, the Los Angeles Dodgers' No. 17 prospect, hit an inside-the-park grand slam during Triple-A Oklahoma City's 9-6 victory over the Albuquerque Isotopes. This remarkable play marks only the fourth inside-the-park grand slam recorded in the minor leagues since 2021.

Los Angeles Dodgers No. 17 prospect Zach Ehrhard cleared the bases with a grand slam in Triple-A Oklahoma Cityâs 9-6 win over the Albuquerque Isotopes on Tuesday, but thereâs much more to this home run than meets the eye.
Ehrhardâs second homer of the season didnât go over the fence, and was just the fourth inside-the-park grand slam tracked by Statcast in the minor leagues since its inception in 2021.
The outfielder smoked a ball into left center field, and it took an awkward kick off of an angled wall past Colorado Rockies No. 6 prospect Cole Carrigg. Ehrhard flew around the bases and narrowly beat the throw at the plate to give the Comets a 5-0 lead.
Ehrhardâs speed is the highest ranked of all of his tools on MLBâs 80-grade scale, and he definitely showed it during his inside-the-parker. Per MLB.comâs Ben Weinrib, Ehrhardâs home-to-home time of 15.40 seconds would have ranked fourth in MLB in 2025.

Ehrhard is in his second full season of professional baseball, but his first full year with the Dodgers. The Boston Red Sox drafted him in 2024, and gave him a brief run of games in High-A before the end of the season.
He began 2025 in High-A as well, but quickly moved up to Double-A after just 31 games. The Dodgers came knocking at the deadline, though, acquiring both Ehrhard and James Tibbs III from the Red Sox in exchange for starter Dustin May.
The Dodgers started Ehrhard in Double-A after acquiring him, having him play 34 games where he posted an .857 OPS with five homers.
So far this season, Ehrhard has played 13 games and has two homers with 11 RBIs. He has a .315/.393/.537 slash line through the early days of the season with a .930 OPS, which matches the highest OPS he has had at any level (.930 with High-A Greenville in 2025).
He had a great spring training, posting an .856 OPS through 23 games played. Manager Dave Roberts named the outfielder as a standout prospect during Cactus League play.
LAâs outfield is extremely crowded at the moment, as Teoscar Hernandez, Andy Pages and Kyle Tucker have the starting spots locked down. On top of that, Alex Call and KikĂ© HernĂĄndez lie in their ranks to fill in whenever theyâre needed.
Ehrhardâs MLB-projected ETA is 2027, so he has an entire season to grow into a player who could compete for a real role in LAâs outfield.
