Dodgers Still Rule in MLB Power Rankings
Is anyone really surprised that the Los Angeles Dodgers sit at the top of the latest MLB Power Rankings from The Athletic? Probably not.
On a team filled with superstars ranging from Freddie Freeman to Shohei Ohtani, the outlet recently gave some love toward center fielder Andy Pages.
The Dodgers are in the No. 1 slot right now with every other MLB ballclub taking aim at the defending back-to-back World Series champions.
As it should be in the MLB world.
Los Angeles is taking a day off on Thursday, a well-deserved day off after sending the New York Mets out of Dodger Stadium with a series win on Wednesday night.
The Dodgers are just making tracks toward another National League West Division title already. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts must be happy with what he's seen his ballclub do coming out of Spring Training.
It's like the Dodgers picked right up from how they have played the past two seasons.
That's a compliment, by the way.
But, what about Pages? The Athletic's Grant Brisbee shines a light on his play.
"With all of that weaponry on the Dodgers, all that largesse, who’s leading the National League in batting average, on-base percentage, hits, RBIs and OPS?" Brisbee wrote.
"Why, the humble Pages, who is also zipping around center field like a water bug and earning his defensive keep," Brisbee continued. "He’d need a 2.00 ERA to be the Dodgers’ best player, but he’s doing as much as he possibly can otherwise."
The Dodgers are ranked number one due to their strong roster filled with superstars and their status as the defending back-to-back World Series champions.
Key players contributing to the Dodgers' success include Freddie Freeman, Shohei Ohtani, and center fielder Andy Pages.
Other MLB teams face the challenge of competing against the Dodgers' deep talent pool and their experience as reigning champions.

Pages has provided some defensive support for Roberts' lineup, even diving onto the Dodger Stadium grass to make catches. He's proven to be one of those players who always gives 100 percent when he's on the field.
That's a definite reason to watch Pages when he's in the lineup.
"Pages has had a similar start to a season back in 2024, and his current BABIP (.526) might be a teensy bit inflated, so you shouldn’t get too goofy about his star potential yet," Brisbee wrote. "He’s still just 25, though, and star potential is something that he clearly has."
Right now, the Dodgers have a 14-4 overall record in the young 2026 MLB season. They'll open up a four-game road series at Coors Field on Friday night against the Colorado Rockies. Once that series wraps up, Los Angeles then heads to the Bay Area for a series against their longtime rivals, the San Francisco Giants.
Of course, the Dodgers-Giants history goes all the way back to the days when the franchises were located in Brooklyn, N.Y., and New York City.
That's always a must-see series for MLB fans.
Dodgers fans will see if their ballclub can add to its win total for the season against the Rockies and Giants.
