The Miami Dolphins are coming into the 2026 NFL season with a ton of roster turnover. No team in the NFL is likely to have more new faces starting on both sides of the ball than the Dolphins.
One of the most important position groups for the Dolphins this upcoming training camp and preseason leading up to 2026 is the wide receiver room.
Of their two third-round rookies, Chris Bell out of Louisville, who's been compared to AJ Brown, has been recovering from a torn ACL. And according to CBS Sports' Carter Bahns, the Dolphins got an update on Bell at rookie minicamp.
"Chris Bell worked out on the side amid his recovery from a torn ACL," Bahns reports. "Bell sustained the knee injury in the penultimate game of Louisville's 2025 season, which held him back from flying off the board as a potential first-rounder."
This potential draft steal for the Dolphins in the late third round will have to recover from a torn ACL. That's a worrying injury for any player, especially a rookie. But, this report is some good news for the Dolphins.

Bell is one of the more intriguing wide receiver prospects coming out of this year's draft class. He's 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, and is only 21 years old.
Last year for Louisville, he recorded 917 yards receiving on 72 receptions with six touchdowns. Such a strong season for such a young player would normally have him as a higher pick than the 94th selection.
But, with his torn ACL, Bell, who's been compared to AJ Brown at times during the pre-draft process, fell to the third round right into the Dolphins' lap.
And with his ACL tear coming late into the season, hearing this report from Bahns that Bell is back on the practice field and working towards a return is some very welcome news.
There's no telling if he will be ready to go for the first game of the season, or how much work he'll get in with the starting offense before the season. But this report is already some good news for the Dolphins on Bell amid his recovery.
