The Miami Dolphins have had a ton of roster turnover, as they're looking to rebuild under Jeff Hafley and Jon-Eric Sullivan.
A key to such a rebuild is the production of rookies, and this year, the Dolphins took 13 players in the NFL Draft. After the draft, they also signed some undrafted free agents.
One of those UDFA's was Texas A&M running back Le'Veon Moss. He was projected as a Day 3 pick, but went undrafted and signed with the Dolphins on May 8th. However, just four days later, the Dolphins announced that Moss was retiring.
"Roster Move | We have placed running back Le'Veon Moss on the reserve/retired list," the Dolphins announced Tuesday.
Moss, the Senior out of Texas A&M, is a surprising retirement. He wasn't expected to be a very highly drafted prospect, but he did have some buzz on Day 3 of the draft.
The Dolphins are also not a terrible landing spot for a UDFA, what with all of the roster spots open and up for grabs with their limited cap space following the dead cap hits from the Tua Tagovailoa release, among others.

In his last season at Texas A&M, and now likely his final year playing professional football, Moss recorded 404 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 77 attempts. In 2024, he ran for 765 yards and 10 touchdowns on 121 attempts.
He had a chance to fight for a depth RB spot on the Dolphins roster, or at least make the practice squad. But, instead, Moss has decided to retire from the NFL just four days after signing with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent.
