Miami Dolphins rookie LeāVeon Moss has retired just four days after signing an NFL contract. The former Texas A&M running back was placed on the reserve/retired list following rookie minicamp.
Just four days after signing an NFL contract, a Miami Dolphins rookie has decided to retire.
On May 8, the Dolphins announced the signing of 11 undrafted free agents, and among them was former Texas A&M running back LeāVeon Moss.
However, on Tuesday, the Dolphins announced that Moss has been placed on the reserve/retired list.
āThe Miami Dolphins placed undrafted rookie RB LeāVeon Moss, formerly of Texas A&M, on the reserve/retired list,ā the Sun Sentinelās David Furones wrote.
Mossā retirement comes just days after the Dolphins took part in rookie minicamp on May 8 and 9, where the Texas A&M product was in attendance.
Moss spent his entire collegiate career with the Aggies, tallying 1,767 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns while adding 24 catches for 236 yards over four years.

It isnāt clear exactly why the young running back is hanging up his cleats.
But if we were to take an educated guess, itās likely Moss got one look at what is required in the NFL and wasnāt ready to sign up for all that.
There is a stark difference between being a college football player and a professional.
The hours are longer, the work is harder and there is much more expected out of players, both from a mental and physical standpoint.
Moss is hardly the first rookie to retire following a rookie minicamp. We see it every year, and this year has been no different.

With rookie minicamp done, the Dolphins will get a break before returning for OTA (organized team activities) offseason workouts later this month.
Those workouts will be held on May 18-19, May 21, May 26-27, May 29, June 8-9 and June 11.
Miami will also sandwich in mandatory minicamp in that timeframe from June 2-4.
After that, the long summer break hits for the Dolphins before they come back for training camp in late July.
The preseason will start the following month and then, before we know it, the start of the regular season will fall in the second week of September.
