Dolphins rookie is confident in his ability to play new position

The Miami Dolphins used their first pick in the 2026 NFL draft on Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor, who was a three-year starter on the left side during his time with the Crimson Tide.

However, now that Proctor is in the NFL, it appears that he'll be kicked inside to left guard, where the Dolphins have a clear need with James Daniels and Cole Strange leaving in free agency and Jonah Savaiinaea likely flipping to the right side.

While this is a new challenge for Proctor, it's one he seems ready for.

"No. I can play anywhere. I don't know where I'm going to play in September. Just doing whatever I'm asked to do," Proctor said (via the "Miami Herald"). "I'm a powerful guy, quick off the ball. The guards are more the post players; they've got to get the double-team started. That's what I prided myself on - getting it started so the center and left tackle can come in and clean up. I'm just focusing on that power and speed off the ball."

Proctor has said all of the right things since the Dolphins brought him in at the end of April. He's addressed his weight issues and committed to making a permanent change there, and he seems ready to do whatever his new coaches tell him to be successful in the NFL.

Having Proctor in between Patrick Paul and Aaron Brewer should allow new quarterback Malik Willis to feel very safe in his protection in front of him. If is healthy at right tackle, right guard should be the only question mark.
