The Miami Dolphins have selected Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor with the 12th overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft, addressing the major need at offensive line. Proctor is the third offensive lineman off the board in the draft. Miami moved down from the 11th pick to the 12th pick in a trade with the Dallas Cowboys to acquire two additional fifth-round picks.
Proctor is a former five-star recruit and three-year starter at Alabama. He played all 15 games at left tackle in 2025, earning consensus All-American honors and First Team All-SEC honors. Proctor stands at 6-foot-6 and weighs 352 pounds.
The Dolphins currently have Patrick Paul at left tackle and Austin Jackson on the right. However, Jackson's contract is set to expire at the end of next season, and the Dolphins showed interest in Proctor before the draft.
Due to injuries, Jackson played in only six games a season ago, and eight the year before. The Dolphins have been unable to find a quality replacement at right tackle while Jackson was out last season, amplifying the consistent offensive line issues the team faced.
Proctor's best chance to earn his way on the Dolphins' lineup is to become a suitable replacement for Jackson or move to one of the guard positions. Either way, the Dolphins clearly have a plan for Proctor and will likely implement him right away to begin 2026.
